ABOUT FINE & FORTIFIED
Iberian wine intelligence for the serious palate.
Fine & Fortified is the reference publication for collectors, sommeliers and serious buyers who want to understand the wines of the Marco de Jerez — and Iberian fortified wines more broadly — with depth and precision. Independent, rigorous and editorially driven.
OUR MISSION
Serious wine writing for a misunderstood category.
Sherry is one of the world’s greatest wine categories — and one of its most systematically undervalued. Fine & Fortified exists to change that. We publish expert tasting notes, producer profiles and buying guides that treat Sherry with the seriousness it deserves.
Our editorial model is simple: independent, unsponsored reviews scored on a 0–100 scale, supported by a producer directory and a growing library of educational content.
OUR SCORING SYSTEM
How we score wines.
All tasting notes are scored on a 0–100 point scale, assessed blind where possible, and reviewed at optimal serving temperature and glassware. Scores reflect quality, typicity and value relative to category.
A benchmark wine. Reference-level quality for the style. Buy without hesitation.
Excellent quality with clear identity. A reliable choice at any price point.
Competent and well-made. May lack complexity but represents sound value.
Below category expectations. Significant faults or lack of typicity.
