The VORS version of Faraón carries an average age of forty or more years — one of the finest old dry Olorosos produced in Sanlúcar. The additional decades have done their work: what was already an impressive Oloroso at seven years has become something altogether more complex and profound, with a character that transcends its original profile.
The colour is a deep, dark mahogany with a distinctive green rim that indicates very advanced age — a feature more commonly seen in old Madeira. The nose is richly oxidative: toasted walnut, dried fig, pepper, green tea, green olive and a fine bitterness that speaks of very long ageing. The palate is dry and full-bodied, fresh and peppery, with a voluminous mid-palate texture and great acidity. The finish is very long and dry. Outstanding.
